Always a student. Always learning.
I didn't always love the classroom, but I always loved understanding why things work. Basketball led me to kinesiology, and kinesiology opened a door I didn't expect: the science behind the game I'd been playing my whole life. Exercise physiology, biomechanics, motor learning, sports psychology — every class was another piece of the puzzle of what makes an athlete perform and what holds them back.
Adding a psychology minor was the turning point. I started to see that the mental side and the physical side of performance aren't separate. How a player thinks affects how they move, how they recover, and how they respond when things get hard. That intersection, mental training meeting biomechanics. What I'm most passionate about and it's what I plan to build my career around.
My academic path wasn't a straight line. Three schools, a transfer or two, and a lot of late nights balancing practice and coursework. But I graduated cum laude, earned all-academic honors along the way, and I'm now continuing my education as a graduate student at UNLV.

Worked alongside the athletic training staff on injury prevention, therapeutic taping, rehabilitation exercises, and athlete monitoring across multiple sports. Completed a documented practicum applying kinesiology principles in real emergency-response and rehab settings.
Assisted patient rehabilitation using ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and guided exercise. Tracked patient progress and learned that recovery happens faster when someone believes you're in their corner.

The project "Investigating Energy Balance" analyzes the diet and activity of a college athlete to assess calorie intake and nutritional balance. It highlights the need for meal planning, healthy snacks, and increased fluids to support performance and muscle gain in an active lifestyle.

The "Fitness Testing & Exercise Prescription" project uses ACSM protocols to assess a client's cardiovascular fitness, body composition, strength, and flexibility, then interprets the results to identify imbalances and build a personalized training plan that balances performance and health.

The "Anatomical Analysis" project breaks down the biomechanics of bowling, detailing each phase of the motion. It covers joint actions, muscle movements, and planes of motion, analyzing how muscles work together during the approach, swing, release, and follow-through.

The "Service Learning Project"examines how wearables like activity trackers and motion sensors improve patient care through real-time data, boosting accountability, personalization, and progress tracking, while addressing challenges like data privacy and device accuracy.

My internship in the Adams State athletic training room, working under certified athletic trainers on injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency response. Includes a presentation, and a personal reflection showing how classroom kinesiology became clinical practice.
